Heavy Fighting at Guriel Town in Gal Gadud Region in Central Somalia Overnight

Galgadud, (insidesomalia.org) - Reports from Gurieal district in Galgadud region in central Somalia indicates that there was heavy fighting at Guriel town, and the battle was between the Ethiopian troops and their opponents who strongly reject their presence in Somalia.

So far three civilians were confirmed dead and five others were wounded in the battle after a rocket landed at their house in the mid town.

The Al-Shabab group claimed that they have immensely damage the efforts and the stamina of the Ethiopian troops, and they have added that inside one was killed and another wounded.

The town dwellers have fled from their abodes fearing that the Ethiopian troops may maim them.

The situation of Guriel is reported tranquil this morning and the Ethiopian troops still remaining in their temporary barracks.

The inhabitants who fled from the town have not yet returned to their residential in the town and are still in jungle around.
